Established since the late 1980s on Nhieu Tam St, Nghia Thuc St, Bui Huu Nghia St of Ward 5, Dis. 5; this street is home to more than 55 households that run wholesales business of goldsmith, silversmith, jewelery making and trading in metal working equipments. These businesses use a modern scale using advanced technologies in par with Asian standard.

The street has developed 4 stops to serve visitors who come for sight seeing and learning about goldsmith business. These stops are regularly held and stand out as the strongest businesses in 4 distinct professions: (1) trading in gold fine art (2) trading in silver jewelery (3) jewelery molds (4) jewelery tools. Here, visitors can gain a deep understanding of jewelery making from moulding to precious metal refining to get a part of the wonder, sophistication and specialties of jewelery making.

Jewelery street in District 5 not only carries economic significance, but also serves as a place to preserve the culture of traditional craftmanship at the old Saigon – Cholon. Every year, the e traditional ceremony to worship the ancestor of Vietnamese Silversmiths is held at Le Chau Assembly Hall at 586 Tran Hung Dao St  Street, Ward 14, District 5 for three days from February 6-8. (Lunar calendar).
